This course is a knowledge and competence based qualification for those who work or aspire to work in positions that may involve the movement of people.
Similar to the medical courses, this qualification provides candidates with formal recognition of their knowledge and competence. The two mandatory units serve to educate delegates on the principles of moving people safely, and manual handling safety, as well as how to apply these principles in practice. Further objectives of this course aim to prepare learners to attain specific knowledge, skills or understanding of already known subject areas.
The units are:
Learners should be able to work at Level 1 or above, and be proficient in the use of the English language. They must also be physically capable enough to perform the manual tasks, including moving people.
