The course consists of three mandatory units, in which candidates will learn the observational techniques and disciplines necessary to become competent CCTV operators in private security. In addition to ongoing assessment by our expert instructors, candidates will fill in multiple-choice examination papers over the course’s three mandatory units:

  • Working Within The Private Security Industry
  • Working As A CCTV Operators Within The Private Security Industry
  • Practical Operation Of CCTV Equipment Within The Private Security Industry

Successful completion of the qualification enables delegates to apply for a Security Industry Authority licence for CCTV Operators.

In the course of their work security officers are likely to have contact with emergency services, or need to communicate calmly and efficiently in order to prevent and resolve conflict. It is therefore advisable for candidates to possess:

  • B1 Level qualification on the Home Office’s list of recognised English tests and qualifications
  • Functional Skills Level 1 in English
  • Essential Skills Wales Communication Level 1
  • An ESOL qualification at (Level 1) on the Ofqual register taken in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
  • SQA Core Skills in Communication at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework level 5
  • An ESOL qualification at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework level 5 awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and taken in Scotland
