AvSec Security Manager Initial

Over the course of a period between 5-8 days, this course will educate learners on how to effectively manage security in an aviation environment, both in terms of day to day operation as well as spotting, preventing or neutralising potential or developing threats. Candidates must be sponsored or employed by an airline or airport – if they do not directly work for such an organisation, they must be employed by a company contracted to do so. The qualification is valid for 36 months, after which it must be refreshed.

Learner must be aspiring to or already employed in the relevant training role

Every Aviation Security course that Nightingale offers requires the learner to be employed in the role with the training need. Further to this, the employer must provide a security declaration before the training can begin. All courses are certificated and require regular (though not frequent) refresher training after a given period of time has elapsed.
